CUMULUS COMPLETES ACQUISITION,
Closes on Radio Station KOOC(FM) in Texas Market
MILWAUKEE, April 11, 2000-- Cumulus Media Inc. (NASDAQ:CMLS) announced
that it has completed the acquisition of KOOC(FM), Belton, Texas.
The Company acquired the station from Sheldon Communications, Inc. for
$2.75 million.
One of four FM stations programmed by Cumulus in the Killeen-Temple
radio market, KOOC is known as “Mix 106” and is ranked the 149th largest
market in the U.S. by The Arbitron Company.
"We are excited to add Killeen-Temple's #1 at-work station, KOOC, to
our solid line-up of great brands," said John Dickey, Executive Vice President
and Director of Programming for Cumulus. Active in community events,
KOOC is a major participant in the Festival of Flags, Rabbit Fest, Angel
Tree and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Killeen and Temple, the two largest cities in Bell County, are the home
of Central Texas College and the University of Central Texas. The
radio market includes Bell and Coryell Counties and has a combined population
of 309,500. The City of Killeen adjoins 217,000 acre Fort Hood, host
to the largest installation of military personnel and equipment in the
country.
Cumulus Media owns and operates radio station clusters in mid-size markets.
Assuming the completion of all pending acquisitions, Cumulus Media will
own and operate 321 radio stations in 64 U.S. media markets. The
Company commenced operations May 22, 1997.
