ATLANTA,
GA January 26, 2001 -- Cumulus Media Inc. (NASDAQ:
CMLS) today
announced that it has completed its process, begun a number of months ago, of
re-constituting its executive officers. At
a meeting held recently, the Cumulus Board elected the following persons to the
offices indicated:

The
Company also announced that Richard W. Weening has resigned as Executive
Chairman and Treasurer, as well as an employee of the Company.
Commenting on this
process, Lewis W. Dickey, Jr., Cumulus' Chairman, President and Chief Executive
Officer, stated: "It's our
Board's strong belief that this slate of executive officers, which encompasses
the previously announced assignment of the duties of chief executive officer to
me, the election of new chief financial and operating officers, and the
designation of three executive vice presidents, correctly positions Cumulus with
individuals well-qualified to implement and demonstrate Cumulus' commitment to
its shareholders, advertisers and listeners.
Also, on behalf of Cumulus, we thank Richard Weening for his services and
wish him well in the future."

subsidiaries, owns and operates station clusters in mid-size markets.
The Company commenced operations May 22, 1997.
